Summer Slam

Aero Racing presented their Top Alcohol Altered at Perth Motorplex at the Summer Slam meeting, entered in the local Top Comp bracket.

Armed with some new tyres and tuning advice from mentor John Zappia, the car ran 5.968 @ 227mph off the trailer – the teams first ever five.

“I actually had a pedal and short shifted on that pass, so was elated when the crew came down to get me yelling and arms waving” said PC.

“It’s a relief more than anything to have the car finally running straight and doing fast laps. We can start to come up on the tune and get into competitive top alcohol et range”.

The compulsory qualifier saw the altered suffer tyre shake, take a pedal and slip through for a 6.589. This meant a first round match up for Top Comp points leader Madison Brown.

“Tough task with Maddison running on her index and us a little off our 5.73 index”.

Madison was out with a sharp 0.004 reaction time. PC suffered tyre shake again, but a quick pedal and off to chase down the funny car. A 6.177 @ 230mph was not enough to beat the 6.50.

The team were happy with the days racing overall, with the altered super reliable and turning around between races easily.
